Gorgeous and talented Kumasi-based star actress Vivian Jill has cautioned her colleague actors who have become arrogant to change their attitude.
The actress born of a Scottish father and Ghanaian mother in an interview with Dora Kwarteng Ampong on Sankofa Radio in Virginia, U.S.A pronounced that some Ghanaian celebrities after gaining some level of fame become haughty. She added that some see themselves as extraordinary human beings who only want to associate themselves with their colleague actors and actresses but not fans.
“Some people speak English as if they are not even Ghanaians. When they get the chance of travelling to America, they change their ascent behaving like they were born there. I went to a village for a funeral and I was told there was this old lady who always loved to watch my movies so they wanted to go and bring her to me. I asked them to stop and I walked to her house. The woman even though could not hear me was happy for seeing me.”
The make-believe artist added that most actors and actresses forget that it is through the support of the public that has brought their career far.
“If they had not appreciated your works when you started, would producers have hired your services again? No producer would like to waste his money so they choose the public’s choice,” she said.
She further cautioned all actors and actresses including all Ghanaian celebrities who have become arrogant to change their behavior and respect their fans since God didn’t make them so to look down upon others.
“God knows why he made you a movie star so there is no need to shy away people when they [fans] spot you somewhere. Why should one make it difficult for people to come closer when spotted anywhere?” she rhetorically asked.
