Royal Baby Named Prince George

Prince William and Kate MiddletonThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced that their baby has been named George Alexander Louis [simply Prince George].

Yesterday, the Kensington Palace aides said in a short statement that “the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.”

His middle name which also follows tradition is attributed to one that three medieval Scottish kings have had.

In the history of the British Monarchy, six (6) King Georges have ascended the throne since German-born George I in 1714 and the last being King George VI, who ruled between 1936 and 1952.

The name Louis which also appears in the full name of his father [William Arthur Philip Louis], could also be attributed to the Duke of Edinburgh’s uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten.
