I'm Not Responsible for Ebony's Death – Father

Nana Opoku Kwarteng Reacts to Killing Ebony Rumor

Nana Opoku Kwarteng, the father of late Ghanaian afrobeats/dancehall musician Ebony has finally reacted to rumors that he caused the death of his daughter.
Following the death and burial of the posthumously crowned VGMA Artiste of the Year, a section of the society have continually asserted that Mr Kwarteng sacrificed his daughter for rituals.

However, in an interview with Emmanuel Agyemang on Accra-based Onua 95.1 FM, he slammed the tittle-tattle that is making waves in the country.
He noted that he is a Christian — a proud member of the Assemblies of God church so he can’t do that.
“How can I be responsible for Ebony’s death? Am I God? Nobody will have a daughter like [Ebony] and will be responsible for her death,” he told Emmanuel Agyemang on Anigye Mmre.
He also debunked rumors that he is an occultist.
On the issue of the choice of a black coffin for the burial of the late singer, he mentioned that he selected it because it was nice and that has no spiritual connotations.
Ebony died together with Franky Kuri and Lance Corporal Francis Atsu Vondee on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Mankranso on the Sunyani-Kumasi road when returning from Sunyani, following a visit to her mother who had returned from the United Kingdom.
