FIFA bans Kwesi Nyantakyi for Life

Kwesi Nyantakyi receives FIFA Ban

FIFA has sanctioned former GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi for life from all football-related activities, PlugTimes.com can confirm.

These include administrative, sports or any other activity which is related to the game at both national and international levels.

This ruling was made by the adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee and was made public on Tuesday, October 20, 2018.

This ban comes four (4) months after investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas‘ explosive exposé on rot in football administration in Ghana.

The adjudicatory chamber of the world football governing body found that the former Ghana FA boss has violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.

He has also been fined 500,000 Swiss Franc (approximately 2,414,000 Ghana Cedis)

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.

The adjudicatory chamber found Mr Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition. As a consequence, Mr Nyantakyi is banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level. Additionally, a fine in the amount of CHF 500,000 has been imposed on Mr Nyantakyi.

The decision was notified to Mr Nyantakyi today, and the ban comes into force immediately.
