Sierra Leone: Sports Ministry rejects Sellas Tetteh hours after his Appointment as National Team Coach

The Sports Ministry in Sierra Leone has rejected coach Sellas Tetteh, hours after he was appointed to head the country’s national team.

According to the statement, the Ministry’s representatives observed their counterparts from the Sierra Leone FA who were also on the interview panel came with a premeditated action, to appoint the former Black Stars coach.

“The report of the Ministry’s representatives also observed that representative from the Sierra Leone Football Association on the interview panel came with a premeditated mind of appointing the said coach,” statement signed by Director of Ministry of Sports Dr Kenneth Brima said.

“Therefore the Ministry does not recognize Sellas Tetteh as the Head Coach of the Sierra Leone National Team A because the process was incomplete,” the statement adds.

Sellas Tetteh, 62, has a coaching career which spans from 1995.

He has coached a number of football clubs and national teams including Kotobabi Powerlines, Liberty Professionals, Rwanda, and Ghana.
