British Minister Ends Visit to Ghana

Dr Andrew MurissonGNA- Dr Andrew MurrisonUK’s Minister for International Security Strategy, has ended a visit to Ghana aimed at deepening bilateral relations.

A statement signed by Mr John Appiah, Communications Officer at the British High Commission and copied to Ghana News Agency on Thursday, said Dr Murrison met with the Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Matthew Quashie and discussed concerns including the increased levels of maritime crime in the Gulf of Guinea.

It said the two officials agreed that the issue is a shared regional challenge and that Ghana could play a significant role in the regional response. The statement said the UK is committed to enhance its relations with Ghana and is ready to explore ways to deepen the bilateral bonds.

It said Dr Murrison was delighted in meeting defence authorities in the country and to understand Ghana’s defence agenda and challenges. GNA
