Highlife musician Kofi B died on Sunday, February 2, 2020 after complaining of heart attack.
The late singer who hails from Agogo Ashanti-Akim, in the Asante Akim North District of the Ashanti region was with his colleague musician Kofi Nti when the unfortunate event occurred.
Kofi Nti has recounted how everything unfolded while they were in Abeadze-Dominase, in the Mfantsiman district of the Central region.
According to the ‘Rakia’ hitmaker, he was in the town, together with the deceased, to perform today, at the 60th birthday celebration of Daasebre Kwebu Ewusie VII, Omanhene of the Abeadzie-Dominase traditional area, who’s also the vice president of the National House of Chiefs.
He added that they were sleeping in their separate rooms, in the hotel they were lodging when he heard Kofi B calling him, and knocking strongly on his door, at about 2.30 am.
He [Kofi B] asked for the key to the car they drove in, so he could drive to the hospital for medical attention. However, he returned few moments later, and asked him [Kofi Nti] to drive him to the hospital because he can’t.
Kofi Nti asked for directions to the hospital and psyched Kofi B up, saying that he will be fine.
When they arrived at the Abeadze-Dominase government hospital, he was sweating profusely, complained of some uneasiness around his heart and started vomiting some white substance. He was given immediate medical attention. Medical officers revealed his BP was over 150mmHg.
After some moments, he drew his last breath and was confirmed dead by the medical officers, of the health facility.
His body has been transferred to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.
Kofi Nti also revealed that although he sometimes complain of heartaches, this was the first time he had experienced it, while with him.
The musician made all these revelations with Accra-based Peace 104.3 FM on Sunday.
PlugTimes.com understands Kofi B left behind four (4) children; the oldest is 14 years.
The two (2) were returning to the town, to play for the chief, following a superb performance for him, in August 2019.
Kofi B was last seen performing at Mamfe, few weeks ago [on 11th January, 2020.]
