Biography of Cecilia Abena Dapaah

Cecilia Abena Dapaah is a Ghanaian politician; a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

She last served as the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources of the Republic of Ghana under the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Prior to this, she had served as the Minister for Aviation as well as Deputy Minister Water Resources, Works and Housing in 2005 under President J.A Kufour.

She also served as the Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region from 2005 to 2013 and served on several Committees in Parliament.

Cecilia Abena Dapaah was born on the 27th day of November 1954 and hails from Mpasatia in the Ashanti Region.

She attended the University of Ghana and graduated with a degree in French and Linguistics in 1979.

She hold a certificate in Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School and a post-graduate certificate in International Development Studies from the University of Oslo.

On the 22nd day of July 2023, she resigned as the Minister for  Sanitation and Water Resources over alleged theft and possession of huge amount of foreign currencies.

She is married with one child – a daughter; she is a Christian and a member of the Methodist Church of Ghana.
