Chef Smith Apologises over GWR Cookathon Fraud

Chef Smith offers unqualified apology to his family, assistant, Ghana, Amadia Shopping Centre, and politicians following his fake Guinness World Record cooking marathon attempt.

According to the Ghanaian chef, he did not even apply and he created his own Reference Number by taking a cue from that of Regina Adu Safowaah, who embarked on Speech-a-thon, days before his.

Chef Smith also reveals that his main sponsor Amadia Shopping Centre, her chef assistant Leticia, and everyone around him knew nothing about this forgery.

He makes all these known in an exclusive interview with Serwaa Amihere on GhOne TV.

Chef Smith adds that he also forged his GWR Certificate while noting that all these are as a result of the hardship he is facing in life.

“I have been working for a couple of years and nothing is just really working out. Wherever I have worked, I put in my best but at the end of the day whatever that comes up, as salary is not enough to cater for the family,” he states.

He also revealed that he got hospitalised for over a month, after which he was employed as a supervisor for a restaurant.

Earlier in the day, his assistant Leticia had also offered an unqualified apology, stating that he did not know that everything was false.

In a related development, he has confirmed that he is not a member of the Ghana Chefs Association nor International Master Chef’s Club which is on his Facebook page.
