Technical Universities in Ghana are part of the country’s tertiary education setup and they are currently ten (10) in number.
Formerly referred to as the Polytechnics, they were granted the university status in 2016 when The Technical University Act (Act 922) was passed into law.
By extension, these Technical Universities have been given the autonomy to award Degrees, HNDs and other certificates to students.
They are located in nine (9) of the sixteen (16) regions of Ghana.
