Miss Okwahuman Launched
The maiden Okwahuman Beauty pageant has been officially launched with a call on corporate bodies and the media to support to make the competition a success.
In his welcome address, Mr. Amankwa Ampofo, a media practitioner, pointed out that unlike other beauty pageant competitions, this one is limited to only ladies from the Okwahuman area.

Another unique thing about this pageant is that it seeks to bring out the industrial and entrepreneurial best of the contestants.
He disclosed that the pageant has among other things the objectives to unearth talented, entrepreneurial and industrious ladies from Okwahuman, showcase Okwahuman‘s culture and traditions as well as promote and boost tourism in the area and Ghana at large.
The year-long project according to Mr. Ampofo will seek to tap into the entrepreneurial and industrial skills of the contestants who would be groomed and trained on basics and advanced kills required to succeed as an industrialist and entrepreneur.
He called on the media and well-meaning Ghanaians and corporate bodies to come on board to ensure the success of the pageant.
According to him, the main competition that will come off during the Easter festivities in Okwahuman would be preceded with the picking of forms and auditioning of contestants as well as a one to two months camping and grooming of the final contestants on the culture and traditions of the Okwahuman people.
He further explained that the pageant contest which is solely for Okwahuman ladies has a cut of age between 18-35 and that any Ghanaian language is allowed to be used during the contest.

Winner of the competition will travel to Dubai as well as engage in a year-long mentoring and monitoring project on Industrial and entrepreneurial training.
The 2018 Okwahuman beauty pageant is a collaboration between Amusement Multimedia and both the Kwahu East and South District Assemblies respectively.
