Calibra: Facebook introduces Wallet for Digital Currency ‘Libra’

Calibra: Libra’s Digital Wallet

Calibra is a new digital wallet for Facebook’s new global currency ‘Libra’ — a digital currency which is set to make strides in the global cryptocurrency world.

The digital wallet was introduced on Tuesday, June 18, 2019. However, the social media giant has announced that the app that has been built on a reliable blockchain will be available in 2020. It will also be accessible in Messenger, WhatsApp, and as a standalone app in App Store and Google Play.

The Calibra wallet will make it possible for users to save, send and spend the Libra digital currency for several purposes. These include, but not limited to top up phone or paying bills. Transactions on the app will be private, PlugTimes.com understands.

By ensuring maximum security of users, the accounts will be verified with government-issued ID cards.

The website for the digital wallet is being developed at calibra.com; however, prospective users can sign up for early access.

Calibra won’t be available to everyone, anywhere in the world from the start. However, Facebook Inc. announces it plans to make it available to many countries as possible.
