Facebook Cryptocurrency Codenamed ‘Libra’
Facebook is set to shake up the cryptocurrency world with the launch of its own digital currency called Libra.
The social media powerhouse will be sending out a whitepaper release on June 18, 2019, PlugTimes.com understands.
Its debut is expected to unlock a new era of commerce and payment for the social media network.
The company is reportedly offering companies opportunity to pay $10m to become ‘validators’.
Reports available to PlugTimes.com also adds that Libra is aimed at allowing Facebook’s global users to transfer money across borders.
The company is also planning ATM-like machines where users can buy the currency.
It is backed by multiple currencies like the USD, Euro, Pounds, and will also be a payment method for apps like Instagram and WhatsApp.
