Medikal’s Ghanaian Rap Saving Claims

Reigning VGMA 2019 ‘Rapper of the Year’ Medikal has claimed that he saved Ghanaian rap music 4 years ago.

The AMG Business act’s GH rap saving claims come days after his superb performance at the 2019 Ghana Meets Naija.

His bold statement also comes at a time celebrated Ghanaian rappers Sarkodie, M.anifest, etc. have held up the GH rap flag for a long time now.


According to the ‘Omo Ada’ hitmaker the rap game in the country was on the verge of collapse but he saved it.

Real name Samuel Frimpong, he has also added that he will keep it alive.

“4 years ago I saved Ghanaian Rap music from dying and I promise to keep it alive 🤞🏾,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

Although a prolific rapper, he earned major recognition in 2016 which also saw him get 7 nomination at the 2017 VGMAs, although lost out on all categories.

He won the ‘Hip Hop Artiste of the Year’, and ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ at the VGMA 2019.

His comment also also received a barrage of condemnation from users on the social media microblog Twitter.
