Ghanaian rapper has announced a new music genre he calls Afrorock music.
According to the ‘Lapaz Toyota’ himatker, it is a fusion of rap with live highlife and western rock instruments.
He made this pronouncement on Monday, January 13, 2019 on social media microblog Twitter.
He tweeted: “Rap combine with Highlife n Rock instruments =

His announcement comes at a time there has been debates over what elements make up a highlife — the original Ghanaian music genre.
Checks by PlugTimes.com reveals a similar genre name has existed since the 1960s and its pioneership has been credited to Osibisa, Aiye-Keta – Third World, Alhaji K. Frimpong, Laolu Akins, Mike Odumosu and others.
