Earth Tremor hits Accra on Monday Morning

Ghana’s capital Accra experiences earth tremor on Monday morning at about 11.50am local time.

An estimated magnitude of 4.0 with Weija-Gbawe as the epicentre swept through a large number of communities.

These areas include Amasaman, Adabraka, Ridge, Achimota, Dzorwulu and many other places.

Some staff around the Ministries area had to run out of their respective offices, as a result.

Accra is an earthquake-prone area and this can be recurrent.

An earth-tremor is a relatively small or short-lived movement of the earth surface caused by the same forces that produce earthquake.
