Africa (CAF): FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Prelims Draw Held

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 preliminary draw has been held.

Top African teams have been drawn against each other, at a ceremony held in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

Ghana has been drawn in Group G with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia. Mohammed Salah‘s Egypt also faces Gabon, Libya, and Angola at this stage. Cameroon will also play against Ivory Coast in Group D of the qualifiers.

120 matches are expected to be played, before the before the next stage of the qualifiers.

10 teams, one (1) from each group will qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
