Ghana records first COVID-19 Cases
Ghana has confirmed two (2) cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, and the first cases to be confirmed in the West African country.
This was made known by the Health Minister Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu on Thursday, March 12, 2020 in Accra-Ghana.
Laboratory results for the two (2) confirmed cases were received at the same time from the Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research.
According to the Ministry, these are imported cases of COVID-19 and both individuals returned to Ghana from Turkey and Norway respectively.
Any citizen who feels unwell with symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing has since been advised to stay home and call the following numbers immediately: 050-949 7700 or 055-843 9868.
