Yaw Sarpong teams up with Sarkodie
Collaboration plays a key role in the development of music across the globe. These include intra-genre and inter-genre approach where musicians work with others to produce song(s).
In Ghana, the latest musicians to engage in inter-genre collaboration is Ghanaian gospel music legend Yaw Sarpong who is set to release his song with celebrated Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie this month.
This comes barely a year after the ‘Wo Haw Ne Sen’ hitmaker hinted about a possible collaboration with the BET Awards winner.
He made this revelation in an exclusive interview with KMJ on Joy Prime‘s ‘Showbiz Now’.
The gospel musician who has been in hiatus for some time now said “I will be out with Sarkodie this month. It is a gospel song and he rapped in it.”
“It is time for people to see the other side of Sarkodie,” he added.
The song is off the gospel musician’s forthcoming ‘Methodist’ album.
Yaw Sarpong has been a very good admirer of Sarkodie as quoted in 2018 interview with zionfelix.net.
Sarkodie has been featured by a number of gospel musicians. They include Herty Borngreat, and MOG (Pastor Nana Yaw Boakye).
