Mr Logic on Shatta Wale’s Name
Names play very key role in a brand and Ghana’s entertainment industry is no exception.
Then Bandana, he returned to the music scene with a new name Shatta Wale.
How the new name was carved has been more or less concealed from the general public.
Entertainment critic Mr Logic has however revealed that he recommended the name to the Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musician.
He told Andy Dosty on Accra-based Hitz 103.9 FM’s Daybreak Hitz that “Shatta was Bandana and whenever he sang he used the Wale name. He already had the Shatta Movement. So I recommended he used both names.”
“He had another name aside from the Bandana which was vibrant on the street but prior to his comeback recently, he mentioned Shatta Wale in his hit song Dancehall King, it sounded so well to me so I recommended it to him which he accepted and that has been his trademark name,” he added.
He also revealed that he believe in names because it is relevant in the career of every artiste.
“I believe in names because as an artist or an individual, names matter so much,” he said.
