Aiteo CAF Awards 2017 Winners
Egypt’s Mohamed Salah has emerged as the African Player of the Year 2017 winner at a star-studded ceremony held on Thursday at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana’s capital.
The Liverpool attacker faced stiff competition from Senegal’s Sadio Mané and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who took the second and third places, respectively.
The event which was hosted by Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba and South African broadcaster Carol Tshabalala was graced with performances from Toofan, Efya, Patoranking, Phyno, Fally Ipupa, Fabregas, Flavour, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and KiDi. However, reggae/dancehll musician Shatta Wale who was billed to perform could not do so.
