Ghanaian teacher, Michael Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo has had his contract with Huawei Ghana terminated after a feminist group known as Pepper Dem Ministries reported the social media comic actor over some jokes he made two years ago which seemed to perpetuate rape culture.
The group which is known for bashing men on social media and other platforms they find themselves did not only report the comedian to Huawei, but also went ahead to report him to his employer, Ghana Education Service (GES), demanding they sack the young teacher who has won the hearts of many with his jokes and benevolent works towards his school children.
In a letter addressed to Teacher Kwadwo which he shared on his Facebook wall, GES seemed to have suspended the affectionate teacher although vital portions of the letter were covered.
Consequently, Teacher Kwadwo has deleted all his posts relating to Huawei and has cautioned his fans and followers not to mention or tag him in any of their products on social media.

A few months ago, Teacher Kwadwo sewed uniforms for 18 pupils from the School where he teaches, Akrofuom D/A Primary in the Adanse South district but I guess the Pepper Dem Ministries never saw any of his good works but rather saw only the negative side of a young teacher who has never raped nor sexually assaulted anyone as no such reports has formally been made known.
He and some other well-known influencers of Huawei were recently flown to the United Arab Emirates to witness the launch of Huawei’s new Mate 20 Series at a glittering event which took place at the Burj Khalifa, Dubai.
It is unfortunate, we wish him the very best in his future endeavours. However, this should be a wake-up call for everyone. We need to be prudent with what we share on social media as our past social media posts can easily hunt us down.
