Africa Luxury Dialogue will be presented in Accra, Ghana on 20th February at The Galleria at Kempinski Hotel as a forum for luxury brands and enthusiasts to share insights, experience and vision of the luxury landscape in West Africa.
The program will feature representatives from leading international luxury brands including Kempinski Hotel, Mercedes Benz, Versace Collection, and Remy Martin as well as intimate dialogues and presentations from emerging African luxury brands, entrepreneurs and thought leaders to highlight their experience of building luxury brands on the continent.
In addition to the panel and discussions, the Africa Luxury Dialogue program which is presented with support from Air France KLM airlines, will also include a pre-event private cognac tasting and post-event cocktail session sponsored by Remy Martin, a Peugeot and Citroen showroom launch reception and a refreshment break sponsored by Moments Premium Chocolate and Nespresso.
Ken Kweku Nimo
Kenneth Appiah-Nimo, is a researcher and fashion business strategist. He holds a BA degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Cape Coast, and two post graduate degrees in Fashion Business from the University of Johannesburg. Ken believes in the potential of the luxury industry as a vehicle for transforming African economies and rapidly advancing the new phase of Africa’s cultural renaissance. Through research, Ken seeks to chart the history of luxury in Africa and assert the place of the continent in the global luxury economy. His work also underscores the growing importance of Africa’s emerging market and explores the pertinent challenges of homegrown brands.

With a career spanning over 10 years, Tamara is recognised for her creativity and flair for design and luxury. With Lionheart events, Tamara and her team are recognized for producing some of the most high profile celebrations in Africa for clients such as Facebook, Bank of America, Porsche, Prudential, Octagon, Newmont, and First Atlantic Bank.
Fred Deegbe is the Chief Caretaker of Heel the World, Ghana’s first globally recognised high-end footwear brand. Roberta is the Managing Partner of Roberta Annan Capital Partners (RACP), a sector agnostic specialized boutique Investment Company in Sub-Saharan Africa with a portfolio of assets in hospitality (African Hospitality Development Group), agribusiness (Coco-Afric) and sustainable Luxury (Frallain Group).
Armand Faure is Ghana’s Brand Ambassador for Rémy Martin, the house of signature spirits and one of the biggest cognac producers in France. With an extensive knowledge spanning over five years in the premium spirits industry in France, Ethiopia and Ghana, Armand is dedicated to bringing the best and finest dining and drinking experience to Ghana.
Elizabeth Oputa is an award-winning PR maven with 15 years of experience building brands for enterprises in the US and Nigeria such as Hewlett-Packard, Johnson and Johnson, Pfizer, and currently, LVMH Moët Hennessy in Lagos, Nigeria. Jewel Arthur is a Global Hunter, Designer, Curator, Creative Director, Educator and all around Story Teller. Jewel can count some of the world’s leading brands and creative pioneers as her clients and collaborators. A graduate and lecturer at the world-renowned, University of the Arts, she was given her first opportunity by the late great British designer Alexander McQueen as designer and show producer. For nearly two decades Jewel has worked with brands and professionals at the peak of their industry including Selfridges, Apple, The Hilton Group, Diesel, The Hearst Corp, London’s Victoria & Albert, Giorgio Armani, Elle Decor, Jaguar, Saota, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. With an extensive knowledge of the African hospitality industry, spanning across hotel management and project coordination, Manish brings strong commercial insight and a wealth of leadership to the role. Manish previously served roles as General Manager at the Kempinski Villa Rosa and Olare Mara Kempinski and Hotel Manager at Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay. With over 12 years experience at Kempinski, Manish brings a well- rounded skillset and in-depth knowledge of luxury hospitality in Africa.
Asad is the CEO of Silver Star Auto, the official distributors of Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot and Citroen in Ghana. He is a recognized market leader in premium luxury cars with over 20 years of experience.
Aldo Manfreda is Chief Operating Officer for Casa Trassaco, Ghana’s leading dealership for high quality and luxury furniture. Aldo studied European Economics in Milan while working for Gucci as a boutique supervisor and modeling for designer brands including Ralph Lauren, John Galliano, Patrizia Pepe, and D squared. He became immersed in the world of fashion with roles such as Assistant Manager for Abercrombie and Fitch, Retail Director for Bjornborg Sweden, and Menswear Manager for Christian Louboutin in London. In his free time, Aldo works on developing personal art and fashion related projects.

With over a decade of experience and a proven track record in the global luxury retail space. Viola has previously worked with renowned international brands such as Burberry, ZARA, Loewe, CELINE and Valentino. She has been featured on media platforms such as Essence, Forbes, BBC and CNN International.
Judith Biel, General Manager of Yolo Restaurants part of the Yolo Experiences Lifestyle Group, joined the brand over six years ago forming a major part in the success story of the group. With a European Hospitality background in iconic venues and concepts such as the Royal Albert, Gaucho and Boutique Hotel Collection Red Carnation Hotels, she is proud to have had the opportunity to establish Yolo’s bands with her team and continues to grow the group while setting international service standard in the hospitality scene in Accra.

Wellington Baiden is the founder of Portal Forest Estates and has over 20 years of experience in forestry, ecotourism, environmental conservation, community livelihood support and natural resource policy analysis as well as the wood products sector in Ghana. He is an internationally recognized innovator and consultant in agro-forestry and environmentally sustainable development interventions. He is also a mentor and an environmental educationist.
