The year’s edition which begins on Sunday, May 26, 2013 will feature 28 contestants from 14 countries [including Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe] across the continent to ‘chase’ the USD 300, 000 cash prize at stake.
“The Chase” will require housemates to use their charms to link up with others in a somewhat romantic venture. The logo has also been redesigned in glittering and edgy gold plated lines to reflect the new title.
The Managing Director of M-Net Africa, Biola Alabi admitted her outfit is ready to, “give audience and loyal fans of the show, a truly unforgettable viewing experience once again…with suspense, emotions, drama, excitement and little romance.”
Meanwhile, regular host of the show IK Osakioduwa retains his position and promises special and exciting moments in this year’s edition.
“Big Brother Africa is a pretty unique show. Every season has its own special moments and features. I’m super excited to be invited back to host the show. I have thoroughly enjoyed the past seasons and I look forward to bringing a fresh and energetic approach to “The Chase,” he said.
BBA 8 like the previous editions will last for 91 days and will be screened live 24/7 on DStv channels 197 and 198 while GOtv audiences will be able to see highlights. It is brought to you by M-Net Africa and Endemol and refreshed by Coca-Cola
