The Chief Executive Officer of Empire Entertainment – organizers of the annual “Ghana Meets Naija” concert has stated emphatically that the musical show is staged in line with the “unification and brotherliness” between the Ghanaian and Nigerian showbiz industry especially music.
He said this in an interview with News-One ahead of the official launch of the third edition on Wednesday, May 22.
“It is all about unification and brotherliness within the spirit of having fun with our Nigerian brothers and sisters. We have lots in common and there is no better way to express that than through a concert,” he said.
“Yes, we do that through football matches, we do that through diplomatic and bilateral arrangements and cultural exchanges, but we believe that as entertainers, we can also do something to strengthen that unification. History says some Ghanaians actually migrated from Nigeria so it is also a homecoming thing,” he added.
Over the years, the likes of R2bees, Kwaw Kese, Keche, Davido, 4×4, Brymo and many more have rocked the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ stage.
By far, the Nigeria’s new sensational musician Burna Boy has officially been confirmed to be performing at the event. The rest of the musicians to be on the bill will be made known to the general public during the launch.
