The Ghana Music Rights Owners is one of the musician bodies in the country that has always been blasted by members.
The latest to do so to the body mandated to collect royalties on behalf of musicians is rapper D-Black.
According to him, the royalties from GHAMRO is a meagre one and cannot even buy a champagne in his night club.
The owner of Club Onyx in Accra said in an interview on Hitz FM‘s Hitz High Table that “in 2016 someone called me from there and told me all the A list artiste and producers had 600 cedis each with them so I should send my mobile money number.”
He also noted that B-list artistes earned GHc450.
“That means if Sarkodie releases 10 songs in a year and I don’t, we are all A list artistes we still get the same amount of money, it does not make sense,” he added.
