Mama G to Visit SA For iROKO Launch

Patience OzorkworNollywood superstar Mama G will visit South Africa to launch iROKOtv’s new Nigerian movie DVD collection in order to reach the millions of Nigerian movie fans who do not have access to the internet.

iROKOtv is the world’s largest online distributor of Nigerian movies with a catalogue of more than 5,000 titles.

Nigeria’s movie industry, also known as ‘Nollywood’ is the second largest film industry in the world, and produces approximately 2,000 movies a year.

iROKOtv has selected 10 movies, including hits such as Mrs Somebody, Kiss & Tell, Single & Married, Airline Babes, Damage and Aki & Popo Sisters to be distributed on DVD in South Africa.

The DVDs will be available in Johannesburg in markets in Soweto, Kempton Park, Rosettenville and Randburg. The iROKOtv DVD all cost less than R30.

On Friday 14 June, Mama G, who has starred in more than 500 movies, will be at the screening of Airline Babes in which she features. The free screening takes place at THE OPEN in the Maboneng precinct. Doors open at 18h00.

Mama G will also be at a meet and greet event at Bara Mall in Soweto from 14 to 16 June where fans can have their photos taken with her.
