The Melcom Group of Companies on Wednesday officially commissioned a new branch of Melcom Arcade in Bolgatanga to provide sales and service to its numerous patrons.
The company, as part of the commissioning, cut the sword at the Atulbabisi community in the Bolgatanga Municipality where its edifice is located to start a three classroom block project for the St Peter and Paul Primary school.
This, according to the management, formed part of the Melcom Group of Companies’ commitment to give back to society and to assist those in need to have solace.
Mrs Sonhia Sadhwaani, Brand Manager of the Melcom Group of Companies, said the additional branch in the Upper East Region was part the company’s commitment to ensure that the entire country benefitted from the lower price offer for goods and services the company hopes to deliver.
With a total of over 2,000 Ghanaian staff nationwide, the Brand Manager said the opening of the branch in Bolgatanga was the beginning of greater things to happen urging all to patronize Melcom services.
Mrs Sadhwaani gave the assurance that very soon the company would reach out to the rest of the regional capitals and bigger cities in the country that have no branches.
Mr Ramesh Sadhwaani, Joint Manager of the company urged the staff to work hard and said Melcom had a responsibility to serve and expressed the hope that all staff would put their hands on deck to deliver quality services to the company’s clients.
Alhaji Limuna Mohammed- Muniru, Upper East Regional Minister, whose speech was read by the Mr Edward Ayagle, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bolgatanga expressed appreciation for Melcom’s support in backing education in the  region which was a backbone for development.
Mr Ayagle said government recognizes the private sector as an active partner in development and that the benefits in this partnership could not be over emphasized since they were central in job creation and a source of revenue generation through taxation.
He said government was therefore committed to building a robust economy by addressing challenges confronting the private sector.
