2013 BET Awards: Ghana’s R2bees Loses out As Ice Prince Wins Category

Ice PrinceGhanaian music group, R2bees has lost out on the 2013 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards to Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince at the event on Sunday night.

The “Walahi” hit makers were nominated in the Best International Act (Africa) category together with eventual winner, Ice Price (Nigeria), 2Face Idbia (Nigeria), Donald (South Africa), Toya Delazy (South Africa) and Radio & Weasel (Uganda).

The Chocolate City act wins this year’s award after losing out on the award to last year’s joint winners, Sarkodie and Wizkid.
R2bees who made history in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards were of high hopes of winning the coveted international award.

Following Ice Prince’s won of the award, he took to social media site, twitter and had this to say “We won the BET2013 award at the staple centre LA live!!! Words cannot describe this!! God bless you.”

He now becomes the fourth Nigerian artiste to win the award since 2Face and D’Banj (in 2011) and Wizkid (in 2012).
