Ghanaian music duo Reggie N Bollie has opened up about life after emerging runners-up on the twelfth (12th) edition of The X Factor UK reality TV show.
The two, made up of Reginald Kojo Ainooson and Ishmael Hamid plied their respective music trades in Ghana until they moved to UK (with Reggie initially moving to Italy). They formed Menn on Poinnt in 2012 before rebranding as Reggie N Bollie.
The “New Girl” and “BUMAYE” duo revealed that life after the The X Factor UK has been sufficiently good.
Now on the F.R.O.D Music label, the two also recounted how difficult it was, acquiring some of the basic necessities of life before the show.
“There has been a very positive change in our lives since we joined The X Factor UK. We always thank God for that,” Reggie has noted.
“Sometimes when we go shopping and the price of a particular product is mentioned, we presume its very cheap. However, we also prompt ourselves about that fact that some two years ago, that was — more or less, our 2 months salary. Sometimes we even just get paid for being invited to watch horse racing. And for some of these reasons, we believe the show has really changed our lives completely,” he added during an exclusive interview with Deloris Frimpong aka Delay on The Delay Show.
Reggie, who was driving Rover 75 before the show, now drives a Mercedes CLA-CLASS coupe while Bollie, who was a regular train commuter now drives a 4-wheel drive Ford car.
When quizzed about the possibility of going bankrupt, even after enjoying all the good stuff now,Reggie noted that anything can happen.
“There is a possibility of going back to our difficult times, especially if we dont manage what God has gifted us now, properly. So we cant be overly happy about what we are enjoying today.”
When also asked whether the two are worth more than one million dollar, they said yes, by God’s grace.
When queried, Reggie however took the opportunity to deny rumors about sending sordid text message to a female fan, during the group’s time at the reality TV show.
The music duo mutually parted ways with Simon Cowell‘s Syco label in February 2017 before founding their own label F.R.O.D. Music.
