Rapper Cassper Nyovest, real name Refiloe Maele Phoolo has listed his top five (5) rappers in Africa as the bragging right to the continent’s finest Emcees continue to linger on.

The multiple award-winning South African rapper who is currently on a media tour in Ghana revealed his list of rappers who are in charge of the rap game in Africa and four (4) of our [] list of top 10 rappers on the continent made his list.

The Family Tree Records boss named Nigeria’s M.I, Ghana’s Sarkodie and M.anifest, South Africa’s Riky Rick, and himself as the top 5 rappers in Africa. He made this known when Andy Dosty asked him in an exclusive interview on the Daybreak Hitz show on Accra-based Hitz 103.9 FM.

“Definitely me, M.I — he has been one of my favourites for a long time, Sarkodie, Ricky Rick from South Africa — he is dope, and M.anifest,” he told Andy Dosty.

The “Nyuku” rapper who has three (3) albums to his credit also gave an honorary mention to English-born Nigerian rapper Mode 9 as his all-time rapper on the continent.

“Of all time, I remember Mode 9 used to be hot! I have to mention Mode 9; it is an honorary mention. I remember one time he was the illest rapper in Africa,” the rapper noted.

Collaboration with Stonebwoy

The rapper has given hint about a possible collaboration with Zylofon Music act and BET Awards winner Stonebwoy, real name Livingstone Etse Satekla and it is expected to be another masterpiece.
This was revealed in a reply to a tweet to Ghana’s most decorated musician Sarkodie, who was looking forward to collaborate with him, but currently in New York, USA.
