Singer Aretha Franklin dies at 76

American soul singer Aretha Franklin has been confirmed dead.
“The Queen of Soul Music” died in the morning of Thursday, August 61, 2018 at her home in Detroit surrounded by family and close friends.
The late Aretha Franklin was diagnosed of cancer in 2010 and as a result, announced her retirement from music last year.
Her last performance was in November 2017 at a gala in New York held in aid of the Elton John Aids Foundation.
Tributes have since poured in for the first ever woman to be inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.
They include, but not limited to actress Taraji P. Henson, TV producer Shonda Rhimes, WWE star Charlotte Flair, disc jockey Grandmaster Flash, musician Jadiluc, and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
