Chelsea FC legend Claude Makelele has today [Friday], August 2, 2019 returned to the club.
He has been appointed as the new Technical Mentor to the Chelsea FC Academy.
Makelele will be at the London club’s Cobham training grounds where he will the young players’ technical performance, both at training and in competitive games.

The 46-year-old will also track the performance of the club’s players on loan by visiting them regularly and giving feedback, the club has reported.
Reacting to his comeback to the Bridge, he noted that “I am very happy to come back home. This club gave me a lot and now I want to give back and help the young Chelsea players dreaming of a career in football.”
“I want to use all my experience to help them become professionals in every aspect and I am looking forward to getting started,” he added.
He becomes the latest, former Chelsea FC player to join the club’s coaching staff following the arrivals of Frank Lampard, Petr Cech and Jody Morris this summer.
He will work with the likes of fellow former Blues Carlo Cudicini, Paulo Ferreira and Tore Andre Flo in his new role.
