Chris Brown, Others Party With Ghana At rLG Hope City Concert

Chris BrownSound; check!, MIC; check!!, lighting; check!!! it was all elation and energy at the much-awaited rLG Hope City Launch Concert with Chris Brown and some top Ghanaian acts at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday night as they performed to the over 25,000 crowd present.

The event got under way as Africa’s finest DJ Black got the crowd move to azonto tunes and later on with some intermittent hip-hop tunes while Bola Ray from Empire Entertainment MCs for the night.

The rationale for the event started with rapper D-Black and his Black Avenue Muzik crew perform some of his hit songs [including the popular ‘Vera’] to the already electrifying crowd. After putting up some great performances, he called E.L. on stage to perform ‘Kaalu.’

Sherifa Gunu followed with averagely a much energizing performance but almost booed for what seem a long performance to the crowd.

Chris, 23, who was the main act for the night’s event performed for a little over an hour to his fans. However, moments before he could get on stage to do what he does best, he asked whether Ghana is ready to party with him. He got his performance underway with his song ‘Beautiful People’. Among songs he performed were ‘Don’t Judge Me’, ‘Forever’, ‘Deuces’,  ‘Look At Me Now’ and others amidst energetic dance moves.

After rendering some of his songs, he threw his cap to the crowd and displayed his six packs to a section of ladies close to the stage.

Chris surprised the crowd with the introduction of Nigeria musician Wizkid who performed his song ‘azonto’ as the former backed the latter to perform the song.

To the dismay of a section of the crowd, he probed whether there are weed smokers present at the function and said “if anybody’s tripping on you smoking weed, f*ck them”.  He was also fond of the use of vulgar language during his performance. But was he not supposed to promote the rLG brand instead of promoting the use of marijuana in a country like Ghana where it is illegal?

He went back stage but returned later on to perform again before Criss Waddle [of R2Bees] could perform his song ‘ayi’.

There was still much to witness as songstress Efya, Samini and hiplife duo R2bees perform a rendition of their hit songs to the crowd.
