INTERVIEW: We Talk to Vodafone Icons Finalist, Ryan

Vodafone Icons Street EditionToday, July 4 marks the beginning of an era for the lucky finalists of this year’s Vodafone Icons Street Edition to win the lip-smacking ultimate prize available for grabs and had a one-on-one dialogue with one of the contestants in the person of Ryan.

Born Ryan Henry Korsah, he is a singer who hails from Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital and describes his new experience as overwhelming.

Asked what he is doing to make strides from the start for the competition, he acknowledged his fellow competitors are very talented but was quick to add that hardworking by entertaining fans will pay off.

“God knows why I am on this stage now. But one thing I know is that I have to work hard; I will give each show my best performance like it is my last,” he said. I also want to see people enjoy my performance(s) which is not just the voice but get them to be entertained as well,” he added.

On what fans should expect from him, he charged them [fans] to put their oar in his performances.

“When I’m singing a ballad I want people to feel the emotions. And when we’re having fun, I want them to lose bearings in my world and have fun,” he fervently stated.

On a message to fans [which he admits he is uninformed of if any], Ryan thanked them for their support especially on social media (facebook and twitter) and acknowledge this competition is an “opportunity to have a meaningful life.

“It is not just a competition but an opportunity to have a meaningful life – an opportunity to finally make my grandmother proud of me and my late mother know that her boy Ryan is doing well,” he emotionally said.
