It was all delight when outstanding Ghanaian dancehall/reggae musician, Samini won four (4) awards including three (3) individual awards and a collaborated award with Stonebwoy at the just ended 2013 BASS Awards. He won the “Artiste of the Year”, “Best Dancehall Artiste”, “Best Performer (Reggae/Dancehall)” and the “Collaboration/Dancehall Song of the Year” with Stonebwoy.
The maiden event which took place at the National Theatre in Accra and saw equally creditable musicians in the genre honoured. These include Iwan, Eazzy, Edem and Trigmatic, among others.
The main performer for the night, Elephant Man failed to make appearance to perform (more coming later.) However, there were lively performances from the likes of Stonebwoy, Kaakie, General Marcus, Trigmatic and Jupitar. Others include Eazzy, Black prophet, Natural Face, D3 and Na U.
The awards ceremony which was hosted by TV personality and actor, Chris Attoh and radio broadcaster, Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong popularly known as Norkus was undoubtedly up to expectation.
The event which was herald by a party at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, July 5 was followed by an After-Party at the Aphrodisiac Night Club in Dzorwulu, Accra.
