2013 Christian Community Music Awards Launched

Cwesi OtengThis year’s Christian Community Music Awards (CCMA) has been launched in Accra ahead of the main event in May.

Nominations has now been opened and the general public can now vote online from now until Tursday, May, 16 after which the main event will be held on Saturday, May 18 at the National Theatre in Accra.

CCMA aims is to tell the world that; the christian artist is very capable and as such reward deserving songs and their artists.

Titled “The Most Wanted”, the ten category awards which will see artistes and their songs been honoured will also be on the theme: “Creating Impacting Levels”.

She said: “The Most Wanted contest seeks to showcase and reward deserving songs and their artistes by promoting all gospel music,” adding; “in Ghana, seven out of every 10 songs sold were gospel songs, but unfortunately they were not celebrated as they ought to”.

The categories which range from praise, worship, inspirational, reggae gospel songs are as follow:

  • Most Wanted Worship Song
  • Most Wanted Praise Song
  • Most Wanted Chorale Song
  • Most Wanted Song with a Cause
  • Most Wanted Reggae Song
  • Most Wanted Traditional Song
  • Most Wanted Rap Song
  • Most Wanted African Song
  • Most Inspirational Song
  • Most Wanted Song

Other  Award Categories include:

  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Male Artiste of the Year
  • Female Artiste of the Year
  • Most Wanted local video of the year
  • Most Wanted Lyrics
  • Most Wanted Choir

CCMA is brought to you by the Christian Community Microfinance Limited and some former winners of the award ceremony include Cwesi Oteng, VVashwan Mitchel and KODA.
