Ghana’s decorated rapper Michael Owusu addo popularly known as Sarkodie together with other top Ghanaian acts on last Saturday night rocked the Dansoman campus of Methodist University College when the “Open House Party” train stopped by.
The weekly event which features Africa’s undisputed Disc Jockey DJ Black do what he does best saw energetic performances from the two-time Ghana Music Awards “Artiste of the Year” as he performed hit-after-hit some songs from his album “Rapperholic” including “Dangerous”, “Saa Okodie”, “Illuminati” among others.
Among the artistes who performed the night include Samini, D-Black, Dee Money, and Yaa Pono. Others include the FOKN Bois, Stonebwoy, Swag Society, Ian Jazzi among other prolific acts the country has bore.
The likes of D-Black and Samini got fans sing along to their hit songs. From the camp of Pidgen Music were the FOKN Bois and Yaa Pono who got fans wooed with their form of lyrics. Swag Society, Stonebwoy and other were no exception.
A brief interview with fans [mainly students] at the party was positive as most of those interviewed wish they such events are hosted on campus regularly to ease the pressure with academic works.
Over the years the “Open House Party” train has stopped at various tertiary institutions [including the University of Ghana and Central University] in the capital, Accra. It is hosted by DJ Black and powered by Joy 99.7 FM – an Accra-based radio station.
