Allegations of sex for favours from key people in the industry toward female talents in Ghana crop up most often.
Although these assertions do not come along with specific names, some people have opined that it is true.
The latest person to speak to this issue is musician Feli Nuna, who believes its a major challenge for female acts in Ghana.
Speaking on SVTV Africa, the ‘Dream’ singer noted that she has personally faced this problem at the initial stage of her music career.
“I’ve faced the challenge before in the past when I was coming up. Although I didn’t give in that’s the major reason why female musicians are unable to compete with the men,” she noted.
Affectionately called Daavi Diva, she also added that “the male artistes get free help but the same thing can’t be said about the female acts.”
“We don’t get a lot of airplay and promo as compared to the men,” she added.
