Shudu is a Digital Supermodel
The digital space is gradually seizing the works that are already being done by humans and the fashion industry is of no exception.
One section in the fashion industry that people risks losing their job is that of modeling. But why? The reason has been that there has been digital supermodels created to do this same job.
Shudu is the world’s first digital supermodel and she (it) stepped into the digital world on Friday, April 21, 2017. This follows an exquisite digital/3D fabrication by young fashion photographer called Cameron-James Wilson.
Shudu is a dark-skinned woman inspired by the Princess of South African Barbie and can be recreated to suit any posture, cloth, and fashion accessory.
Till date, some instagram users who follow Shudu are still contemplating — whether she (it) is fake or real.
Owned by The Diigitals, the world’s first all digital modelling agency, Shudu has been created to champion diversity in the fashion world by collaborating with creators from emerging economies.
By extension, Shudu will also give emerging brands or designers an economically viable space to successfully operate.
The agency has also created and introduced two (2) characters/models into the digital modeling industry and they are Brenn and Galaxia. The former is also a dark-skinned woman, whereas the latter assumes more avatar-like features.
