Held at the plush Movepick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, the actress together with some women entrepreneurs in the country was honoured.
“The House of Gold” producer and star received this on her recognition of her immense contribution to the growth of the African film industry and her fight against Glaucoma.
In a citation [Printex GoWoman Award] presented to Yvonne, it reads:
“For your contributions to the growth of the African film industry, and your efforts to increase national Glaucoma awareness, we say thank you. Printex Ghana is delighted to recognize you both as an Actress and as an Award winning Producer.
On this day 13th April 2013, we would like to present you this GOWOMAN certificate of recognition, to encourage you to do more. You are a GOWOMAN, Just keep going YVONNE NELSON……Printex GH.”
Yvonne was at the event with her fellow actress Lydia Forson.
At the launch, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Nana Oye Lither, Entrepreneur Aisha Obuobi and human rights activist Leymah Gbowee were all honoured.
